Fishing in Devon and Cornwall

Fishing in Devon and Cornwall is probably the best all round fishing in the country. Offering exciting and prolific sport, amidst stunning scenery and countryside.

The river Tamar and it’s many tributaries provide exciting sport for any discerning game fisherman. The month of April welcomes the start of the spring salmon run, with summer comes the large shoals of sea trout and the resident wild brownies and grayling ensure excellent sport all season.

For the coarse fisherman there are literally dozens of prolific and un-crowded lakes, rivers and canals, providing superb sport for the specialist and pleasure anglers alike. Carp to 30+, catfish 40+, pike 30+, tench, bream, perch roach and rudd are all plentiful. For those staying at West Venn accommodation, we also have a lake for the exclusive use of our guests. Well stocked with carp up to 18lb, catfish up to 30Ib, plus tench, bream, crucian carp and quality roach and rudd.

And for the sea angler, the rugged North Devon and Cornish coastline offers some excellent rock and beach fishing, the charter boats provide superb wreck and inshore reef fishing, plus specialist shark fishing and salt water fly-fishing for the bass and pollack.

We will pre-book your permits for the duration of your stay; we know the best skippers to book your charter boats in advance; we will pre-arrange your beats, organise Ghillies, arrange tuition if required and, of course, provide up to date information and advice on where to fish and how to get there.

We keep a small stock of fishing tackle and essentials on site for emergencies and a range of rods and reels for hire. We can have bait delivered for when you arrive. Everything is taken care of!

There is a drying shed on site and freezing, smoking and packing facilities for your catch.

For your convenience, we can provide early breakfasts, packed lunches (varied choices) and pre organise your dinner in the local pubs or restaurants.
